Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization & Rehabilitation

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization starts where movement actually starts: the brain. Developed at the Prague School of Rehabilitation, DNS is built on a simple observation — every one of us already learned ideal movement once, as an infant.

A baby learning to roll, sit and crawl develops a specific, predictable pattern of core stability before ever standing up. Those developmental positions are hardwired. DNS uses them as a reference for what good movement should look like, then retrains it in adults who have drifted away from it through injury, surgery, desk work or years of compensation.

Joint centration

The central idea is keeping joints centrated — properly aligned within their sockets through the full range of motion. A shoulder or hip that sits slightly off-center still moves, but it loads unevenly, and over enough repetitions that uneven load becomes pain.

What this looks like in practice

Positions that may look deceptively simple and feel surprisingly difficult, because the demand is on coordination and breathing rather than effort. Most patients notice better body awareness first, then reduced pain, then the compensations quieting down.

Who benefits

Recurring low back pain, post-surgical stiffness, core weakness that has not responded to conventional strengthening, chronic muscular compensation, and athletes trying to eliminate a recurring injury rather than manage it.

DNS pairs naturally with the McKenzie Method and chiropractic adjustments — the adjustment restores motion, rehabilitation teaches you to keep it.
